Break any song down into its individual parts with this free online AI stem splitter. Powered by a real separation model (Demucs), it can remove the vocals to give you a clean instrumental and an acapella, or split a track into separate Vocals, Drums, Bass and Other stems — then let you preview and download each as an MP3. No software, no signup.
Unlike a quick karaoke trick, this is genuine AI stem separation, so the results are studio-grade — clean enough to remix, sample, practise to, or drop straight into your DAW.
AI Stem Splitter & Vocal Remover
Split any song into clean, separate tracks with AI. Choose Remove vocals to get an instrumental + an acapella, or Split into stems to pull out Vocals, Drums, Bass and Other. Powered by a real AI separation model (Demucs) — studio-grade results, no software to install.
How it works & privacy: stem separation is too heavy to run in a browser, so your file is sent over an encrypted connection to our AI server, separated, and then deleted right after — we never keep your audio. Free plan: 3 separations per day. Need more, or want to create original songs from scratch? Try Solmi →
How to split a song into stems
- Choose a mode. Remove vocals gives you an instrumental plus an acapella; Split into stems separates Vocals, Drums, Bass and Other.
- Upload your track. Drag an MP3, WAV, M4A, OGG or FLAC onto the box (up to 50 MB).
- Let the AI work. Separation runs on our AI server and usually takes 15–45 seconds.
- Preview & download. Play each stem right on the page, then download the MP3s you need.
What makes this different from a vocal remover
A classic vocal remover uses centre-channel cancellation — instant and fully private, but it can leave vocal bleed and thin out centred instruments. This AI stem splitter uses a trained model that actually recognises each instrument, so it pulls apart vocals, drums, bass and the rest cleanly, even from a mono file. The trade-off is that the heavy lifting can’t run inside a browser, so your file is processed on our server (see privacy below).
What you can use it for
- Karaoke & instrumentals — remove the vocal to sing or play over the backing.
- Acapellas & remixes — isolate clean vocals to sample, mashup or bootleg.
- Practice & transcription — solo the bass or drums to learn a part by ear.
- Production — pull stems into your DAW to re-mix, re-pitch or rebuild a track.
Privacy — how your audio is handled
Stem separation is far too heavy to run in a browser, so unlike our other tools this one does send your file to our AI server over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection. It’s separated there and then deleted straight after — we don’t store your audio or the resulting stems, and there’s no account or tracking tied to your files. If you’d rather nothing leaves your device, the instant centre-channel vocal remover runs 100% locally instead.
Free to use
The stem splitter is free for 3 separations per day — enough for most quick jobs — with no signup or watermark. Need more, or want to build songs from scratch rather than pull them apart? Create original AI songs with Solmi. To polish your stems afterwards, try the Online Equalizer, Bass Booster or Loop Maker.
Frequently asked questions
How do I split a song into stems for free?
Choose a mode, upload your track, and the AI separates it in about 15–45 seconds. You can then preview and download each stem as an MP3 — free for 3 separations a day, no signup.
What is the difference between this and a vocal remover?
A vocal remover uses centre-channel cancellation — instant and private, but imperfect. This tool uses a real AI model (Demucs) that recognises each instrument, so it separates vocals, drums, bass and other far more cleanly, even from mono files.
Does it upload my audio?
Yes — AI separation can’t run in a browser, so your file is sent over an encrypted connection to our AI server, separated, and deleted right after. We don’t keep your audio or the stems. For a fully local option, use our centre-channel vocal remover.
How many stems can I get?
Two ways: Remove vocals returns an instrumental and an acapella (2 stems), while Split into stems returns four — Vocals, Drums, Bass and Other.
What audio formats are supported?
MP3, WAV, M4A/AAC, OGG and FLAC up to 50 MB. The separated stems are delivered as MP3 files.
Why does separation take a little while?
The AI model runs on a server GPU and processes the whole song, so it typically takes 15–45 seconds depending on length — versus the instant, less accurate centre-channel method.
Is there a limit?
Free use is 3 separations per day per visitor. If you need more, come back tomorrow or make unlimited original songs with Solmi.
Is it really free?
Yes — 3 separations a day with no signup, no watermark and no cost.
