Online Mixing & Mastering — Vetted Engineers, Anywhere

Recorded your tracks and need them finished properly? Online mixing and mastering gets your song to a vetted engineer who works on it remotely and sends back release-ready files — no studio visit required, no matter where you’re based. Tell us about your project below and we’ll match you, free of charge.

How online mixing & mastering works

  1. Tell us about your project — the form below covers genre, track count, budget and timeline.
  2. We match you with a vetted engineer — screened partners only, matched on your genre and budget rather than your location.
  3. Upload your files — your engineer sets up a shared folder and gives you a simple export checklist for your stems.
  4. Review and revise — you get a first version to comment on, with a set number of revisions agreed up front.
  5. Receive final masters — files delivered in the formats you need for streaming, video or CD.

Mixing and mastering: what each one does

Mixing takes your individual recorded tracks — vocals, drums, guitars, synths — and balances them into one cohesive stereo mix: levels, EQ, compression, panning, automation and effects. Mastering is the final polish on that finished mix: overall tonal balance, loudness to streaming standards, and clean masters in every format you need. If you’re new to the second step, our explainer on what mastering is (and whether you need it) is a good place to start.

  • Mixing only — you have a producer or you produced it yourself, and the raw tracks need balancing
  • Mastering only — your mix is done and just needs finishing to commercial loudness and formats
  • Mixing + mastering — the most common package for self-recorded projects

Why online works so well for mixing & mastering

Mixing and mastering are the most remote-friendly jobs in music: the engineer needs your files and your references, not your presence. That means you can hire on ears and credits instead of geography — and engineers in cheaper cities often deliver the same quality for less. Tracks recorded at home mix up fine as long as the recordings are clean; if you’re still at that stage, see our step-by-step guide to recording vocals at home.

Tell us about your project

Pick “Mixing” or “Mastering” in the form and mention in the details whether you want both. Genre, track count, references and your release deadline all help us match you faster.

Online mixing & mastering FAQs

How should I prepare my files?

Don’t stress about this before you’re matched — your engineer will send a checklist. As a rule of thumb: export each track from the start of the session as a WAV, label everything clearly, leave some headroom, and include a rough mix plus a couple of reference tracks.

How many revisions do I get?

It’s agreed up front with your engineer — typically two to three rounds are included, which is plenty when your notes are specific.

What if my song still needs production work?

If the arrangement or performances aren’t finished yet, mixing won’t fix that — you want our online music production service first, which can include the mix and master at the end.

No spam, no obligation — we’ll only use your details to connect you with the right partner, and matching is free for artists.
